Proliferation of Small Arms in Ghana

Research Problem: (Proliferation of Small Arms in Ghana)

Existing research has shown that Ghana is in the middle of warring African countries where the arms are purported to have come from.

Objectives of This Research

In using quantitative method of research, we want to find out which particular area in Ghana these arms could be found.

We would find out, the extent to which people in that particular area are familiar with these arms.

We will look at how or where, if any, these arms are obtained.

Are the people in that area aware that development in any area is relative to the security situation in the area?

In the end, we would have accurately, objectively, and fully described the unique characteristic of this situation.

Research Questions

Targeted population: Adults between the ages of 18 and 50 years.

Sampling Frame: Eight Districts in the Upper West Region.

Have you seen a gun before?
If you have seen one, what type of gun was it?
Have you owned one before?
How did you get it if you have one?
Do you no any body having one
What type is it?
Do you think that some people smuggled them here
Do you know anybody dealing in guns?
Where do you think they smuggled it from

When you hear people talk about fighting in Ghana, which of these regions comes to your mind.
Why does it come to your mind?
What do you think is the cause of the fighting?
